Following in the footsteps of other EA titles using DLC as an incentive to buy a new copy of the game, EA Sports has announced a new program called ‘Online Pass’ for Xbox 360 and PS3 titles. Every copy of EA Sports simulation games will come with a free one time registration code giving access to bonus content and online services.

Those who purchase a used copy of the game will be able to use the code with their copy to open a 7-day trial of the service, after which they will have to spend $10 to gain full time access for themselves.

The first game using Online Pass will be Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11. One would imagine that bonus content would include new equipment, golfers and playable courses.

More information on the program is available here.
